The organizations and agencies we serve rely on data to measure the progress, success and outcomes of their programs. Case in point: Florida.

The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is charged with managing behavioral health services provided by a wide range of agencies, programs and individual providers. Above all, keeping beneficiary information accurate and secure is critical to meeting every member’s complex care and services needs without delay.

We partnered with DCF to implement, support and host the department’s Financial and Services Accountability Management System (FASAMS) in 2019. Our data warehouse and reporting system helps the DCF collect defined data for various behavioral health programs, including mental health and substance use disorder. The solution can also collect and report on contract and claims data from DCF-contracted managing entities and state mental health hospitals.

Since we implemented FASAMS, Florida DCF has seen several improvements in behavioral health program management operations, including a 35 percent decrease in the number of support requests issued by managing entities. Since 2019, FASAMS has processed and stored more than 1.4 million unique client records and more than 36 million unique service events.

In addition to the data warehouse, we also built bi-directional interfaces that allow data to be collected and reshared with multiple state systems, including the state’s MMIS, and master patient index, to name a few.

Thanks to our solution, DCF can accurately collect and report on the required information from across the State of Florida, while also making sure federal, state and local reporting needs are met. Today, we continue to provide hosting, operations and maintenance services to support FASAMS, enhancing the system on a quarterly basis. Like all our solutions, FASAMS is designed to be able to meet the growing needs of our state partner over time.
