FEI MAINTAINS LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIPS WITH STATE AGENCIES SERVING VULNERABLE POPULATIONS

In the not-so-distant past, many state Medicaid agencies relied on paper-based processes for enrolling and recertifying beneficiaries for waiver programs. Without a digital solution for record keeping, reporting on the effectiveness of those waiver programs, as required by state and federal legislatures, proved challenging, and created significant delays.

Under mountains of paperwork, agencies like the Mississippi Division of Medicaid (DOM) struggled to manage the delivery of care and services efficiently – which could potentially impact the number of beneficiaries that have access to services, and the quality of care they received.

In 2013, we partnered with DOM to change that.

For nearly 10 years, we’ve provided an online LTSS case management system that supports conflict-free policies and a core standardized assessment (CSA) across all waivers from a stand-alone, single-entry-point website. Every year, our system helps DOM ensure access to quality health coverage for tens of thousands of beneficiaries enrolled in unique waiver programs including:

  • Assisted living

  • Elderly and disabled

  • Independent living

  • Traumatic brain injury/Spinal cord injury

Using our LTSS system, DOM easily generates required state and federal reports and produces performance measures for benchmarking system improvement. Our solution nearly eliminated paper processes for enrollment, service tracking, billing and claims. DOM has been able to successfully provide services to more individuals, thanks to our platform, and beneficiaries and their families are reportedly experiencing improved services and realizing better outcomes.

We’ve continued to develop enhancements to our solution throughout the life of this project. We recently partnered with another agency to enhance electronic visit verification (EVV) capabilities for DOM, and we’re working with the agency to apply for and achieve CMS certification of our platform. With CMS certification, DOM will receive more federal funds to operate our system.

DOM is one of our earliest LTSS case management customers, and we’re proud to maintain our relationship with them and continue to provide the agency with the tools they need to deliver vital services to those in need.
